How far in advance should I inquire/book you?
Most couples will book us 8-12 months out from their wedding date. This is just to secure a date on our design calendar and does not mean that design starts right away which is dependent on when your desired mail out date is for your invitations. For custom invitations, this timeline is needed to ensure we have the allotted amount of time to go through the design process, order materials, assemble, and mail them out (additional time is needed for mailing such as for out-of-town weddings/international guests).
Anything less than 6 months out from your wedding date may have rush fees applied.
Do you book clients for just day-of items (signage, menus, place cards, etc)?
To ensure color palettes and design stays cohesive from invitation to day-of items, usually, day-of items are reserved for couples who have also designed their wedding invitations with us. However, depending on what you may be looking for, the project timeline, we may be able to accommodate you on our calendar so it never hurts to reach out! These projects are taken on a case-by-case basis and only when the aesthetic aligns with the work that Studio Sotrel produces.
If you are in the Portland, Oregon area and either our books are not available, or, you are looking for something outside of our scope of work, I am happy to provide recommendations to other signage partners that I know and trust!
Do you mail the wedding invitations or is that something we/our planner will need to do?
Here at Studio Sotrel, we love that we get to be hands-on with every part of the design and production process, which includes dropping off your items at the post office!
How long will it take for guests to receive their invitations after they have been mailed?
Unfortunately, USPS mailing timelines are one of those things that are out of our control. We generally find that guests will begin receiving their invitations within a few days of mailing, however, some invitations may take 2+ weeks to arrive. Even guests who are in the same city or neighborhood can receive their invitations at different times.
If mailing on a tighter timeline, or, wanting to know where your invitations are in the mailing process and who has received them, there is always the option of doing a trackable box/envelope for peace of mind.
